Unlike most of the United Kingdom, in Cornwall sports fans seem to be more keen on Rugby than Association Football. However, if you are looking for an Association Football team to support or just watch some football occassionally, you have no shortage of teams to consider.
Marazion has its own association football club, the Marazion Blues Association Football Club, which plays a team in the Falmouth and Helston League and the Mining League.
At a more senior level, there is Penzance Association Football Club, based in Penzance, just four and a half miles from Marazion. Known as the Magpies on account of their black and white shirts (although they now play in white shirts and black shorts), Penzance Association Football Club plays at the football ground at Penlee Park, Penzance, quite close to the seafront.
Penzance Association Football Club's First Team plays in the South West Peninsula League Division One West. The Reserve Team plays in the Cornwall Combination League.
If you are looking for quality football close to Marazion this is the club to watch.
Both Marazion and Penzance also have ladies and junior football teams.
In an all together different league (literally) is Plymouth Argyle Football Club, commonly known as Argyle, or the Pilgrims. Plymouth Argyle is Marazion's local Football League club, even though it is 75 miles away and across the "border" in Devon.
Plymouth Argyle plays in the Football League Championship.
